Windows Vista continues to tick me off!
GEEK | January 1, 2008So, I am now running Microsoft Vista Home Premium on a desktop and a laptop. It is not that it does not work or perform the way it intends, but the demand and power needed to make it run. I was using my little Acer laptop and notice quite a difference in power consumption using just the battery. I get almost an hour and a half using Vista, where with XP I would get almost 2 hours.
I can live with the battery thing, but I continue to have printer and file sharing issues that I never had with XP. Sometimes I can print and other times I can’t. I am still not entirely sure what the cause is at this time, but I will make a post when I know more.
Windows Vista is no more then eye candy to compete with OSX. Sure, there are some differences and enhancements, but over all it’s not too much different then what I was used to with XP. Why the need to make it so compatible to legacy applications? If Microsoft wants to truly make the next operating system, it is time to start fresh.
Come On Microsoft Get with it! We know you can do better than this. Maybe I should get a MAC? OK, that will probably never happen.
